Export Credit Insurance Procedure
Transferring products from one country to another poses risk. These risks may arise from the transfer procedure, the collaboration with the foreign customer, the conditions prevailing in the country directed products or in the countries where they spend until they reach their final destination.
For this reason, merchandise insurance mechanisms that are directed to foreign markets have been developed. The coverage of the risks associated with the export of products is also undertaken by private insurance companies. Where risks are generally not handled by private insurers, created and operated in most developed countries, experts Insurance Organizations supported by the state.
In Greece, the organization that has undertaken this task is the Export Credit Insurance Organization (OAEP). It is an autonomous organization (private legal entity) with the sponsorship of the Greek government and the supervision of the Ministry of National Economy.
